In Greene County magistrate court Brittany Kay Smith of Jefferson was found guilty at a trial May 22 of assault. She was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. She must pay $1,196 for property damaged during the assault. Court costs were $81.50.
In a separate case, a judgment was entered May 13 against Smith on a charge of criminal mischief-fifth degree. She was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. She must also pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and $200 restitution. Court costs were $60.
Identical judgments were entered May 20 against Lilio Tinoco Cruz and Ordonez Pacheco, both of Clinton, NC, and both charged with public intoxication. They were sentenced to time served, with judgments entered for $48 sheriff’s fees and $60 court costs.
Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending May 22 against Patrick Michael Kennedy of Jefferson on a charge of violation of a no contact order, and Merissa Shawnay Olson of Jefferson on a charge of domestic abuse assault.
